It takes place on Farmer Joe's Deer Farm and the fawn (Zack) tells the story of what happens in his life as soon as he is born. It traces his life from being bottle-fed to eating of his deer feed and eating out in the pasture. Many concepts are taught about the whitetail deer from when he loses his spots and when and how the antlers fall off. It is quite an educational book explaining such terms as velvet, button bucks, rack, tines, sheds and other facts explaining the whitetail's growth and development from birth to becoming a BIG BUCK. About the Author My husband and I have owned a Deer Farm for almost twenty years and enjoy raising such beautiful animals. We enjoy seeing the baby fawns born and watching them grow into BIG BUCKS. I am a retired elementary teacher and decided to write a children's book about the whitetail deer. I believe the average young child does not know about this beautiful animal and the changes he makes from birth to becoming a BIG BUCK. I dedicated the book to my five grandchildren who dearly enjoy bottle-feeding the fawns and also playing with them. Being a former teacher I feel the book is quite educational for the young child (who can trace the deer tracks throughout the book) to and including fourth or fifth graders. Much can be learned about the whitetail deer from reading this book.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Mia Karts","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":68018545262880,"sku":"NEW1468112759","price":13.28,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0980\/7426\/3840\/files\/81U6DLLER8L.jpg?v=1793125645","url":"https:\/\/miakarts.com\/products\/growing-up-on-a-deer-farm-1468112759","provider":"Miakarts Books","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
