The bestselling author of Military Blunders and Naval Blunders brings war history buffs more faux-pas from the front lines with a fascinating study of some of the less glorious moments in the history of aerial warfare. Airforce Blunders takes readers on a grand 'tour de farce', from the early abortive attempts at manned flight in the Renaissance period, through two World Wars, the Falklands War and beyond. Tales include the Austrian unmanned bombing balloons that blew back and discharged their cargo over Austrian lines when the wind changed, and the mis-design of the British BE9, a First World War plane whose gunner risked decapitation every time he swung around to fire at the enemy!
