Ancient Adventures for Modern Kids is a wonderfully inspiring collection featuring stories and tales from around the world and across the ages. Since the beginning of time, various cultures have used storytelling as a way to pass the time. Over the years, this tradition has evolved into a cherished art form. In this collection, some of the world`s most fantastic stories - from France, China, Germany, Australia, East Africa, Czechoslovakia, Korea and many others - are brought together for a spectacular celebration of storytelling. Follow in Sinbad`s wake as he sails across countless seas to far-off places, using only his wisdom and faith in Allah to fight whatever evil he finds. Watch as Jack the Giant Killer tramps across England with nothing but his cap of knowledge, his sword of sharpness, his shoes of swiftness and his invisible cloak, freeing the people from awesome and grotesque giants. Fly through the air with Yael and Mulwarra as they confront the god`s with their illicit love, or sink to the depths of the ocean as one little hare challenges an entire kingdom. In this excellent collection, adventure runs the gamut from betrayal to faith, and from foolishness to wisdom. Beautifully illustrated with the lively and engaging art of John Mardon and Vesna Krstanovich, Ancient Adventures for Modern Kids will entrance young readers everywhere. With more than twenty-five timeless stories from around the world, complemented by stunning, full-colour art and black-and-white drawings, Ancient Adventures for Modern Kids is sure to become an enduring family favourite.
