Product Description A modern classic! Moving, passionate, and beautifully crafted. 'Ashes In Yonkers' is the story of one day in the life of The Courier and four decades in the life of the Kearnys, an Irish-American family. Part mystery, part romance, part saga, Ashes In Yonkers takes you on a journey of discovery. The Courier arrives in Yonkers, N.Y. one morning. He is on a mission-a mission that somehow has to do with a family that once lived here: Rose, Danny, and June Kearney. The book follows the mysterious Courier through his journey to complete his mission. As it does so, it explores four decades in the life of the family, and eventually brings all these threads together in a startling and powerful climax. What is the terrible secret that binds Danny and Rose together? Who is The Courier? What is his mission? Ashes In Yonkers is a vivid portrait of love, hatred, anger, passion and finally, redemption, whose characters live on the page, and will endure in your heart. "This is a moving and involving book, extremely well written. More than a 'story,' this is 'literature.' Ashes In Yonkers will endure."
