She is a freelance writer and the author of three prior books, several health-related articles, and short stories for children. Her current book, CARIBBEAN ADVENTURE, is based on her personal experiences living in the West Indies, where she worked for fifteen years as an international health consultant. Dr. Burke is a Registered Nurse and Certified Nurse-Midwife. Her education includes a Doctorate degree in Theology, graduate and undergraduate degrees in Nursing, and Diplomas in Book Writing and Writing for Chlildren and Teenagers from the Institute of Children's Literature.
