Product Description At the dawn of 21st century United States of America was the undisputed hyper power with an unmatched economic and military might. On 11th September 2001 this venerable position was challenged when 19 terrorists wreck havoc from skies. These terrorists hijacked four commercial flights; three of these planes were diverted to strike at twin towers of world trade center in New York and Pentagon in Virginia. Fourth plane crash landed near Pennsylvania when a struggle ensued between passengers and hijackers. Over 2900 people lost their lives in these attacks while economy suffered a loss estimated to be in tens of billions of dollars. Messages of support and solidarity with American people poured in from around the world. American media was quick to blame infamous terrorist group Al Qaeda for these terrorist attacks. This book covers events of last 10 years with a special focus on US-Pakistan relations and political developments in Pakistan. From the Author This book is a collection of articles covering US-Pakistan relations, Pakistan society and attitudes of Muslims. The book offers historical perspective to someone curious about foreign policy trends at the beginning of 21st century with special emphasis on American war in Afghanistan and her relation with Pakistan. It can also be a useful tool for a researcher curious about a Muslim opinion makers perspective on the last decade. About the Author Abdul Quayyum Khan Kundi has been contributing op-ed essays to leading Pakistani newspapersThe Daily Times,Daily DAWN,The Frontier Post and weeklyPakistan Chronicle. He has written speeches and advised politicians on election campaigns. His op-ed columns cover topics related to politics, social issues and foreign policy. He was the first opinion maker to present an idea that Palestinian bid for UN membership was supported by the United States of America through backdoor channels. His theory was based on the view that American strategic focus is shifting from Middle East to South Asia; Israel's intransigent to engage in a viable peace process; pressure from American allies Turkey, Egypt and Saudi Arabia to support Palestinian application for UN membership. This idea was subsequently confirmed when Palestinian application for UNESCO was accepted by a majority vote which could become a precursor to full UN membership. In his writings Kundi has presented contemporary views of Islamic Economic System and Islamic Social system. His main source for these ideas is Quran, interpreted in the light of discoveries in technology and developments in social sciences in the 21st century. In a Dec 14, 2011 article Mr. Kundi presented emergence of a new multi-polar world order. In this new order American hegemony is challenged by a collaboration of Sino-Russo alliance resulting in a new cold war.
