"J. Frost and Joanie" began their journey together in the seventies as folksingers in Miami, Florida, where they still live. This led quickly to a long and happy marriage. In this book Frost has gathered the lyrics to the songs he wrote during and since those years, and has included his reflections on the events and the people which gave rise to each song's creation. The lyrics alone stand as worthy markers to a life and a time, but the book itself is really a love story. "A love story," as Frost writes,"certainly about Joan and me, but also about the luminescent past, the ghosts who call to us with love, and, as well, the lost and lonesome souls struggling in a hostile world who found purchase in my music." Songwriters particularly, but other artists and anyone else interested in the genesis of artistic insight and expression, will love the songs themselves and reading about the experiences which gave them birth.
