Product Description A collection of short stories, several of which have appeared in The Freethinker, The Humanist and The FirstWriter magazines. A group of them can be characterized as irreligious and sacrilegious, because they challenge popularly held religious beliefs, sacred practices and dogmas. The author hopes that these will contribute to the emergence of a new irreligious/atheistic genre. If the statistics are correct and 15-20% of the people are non-believers, this genre will be welcomed. The collection also includes stories that are didactic, as well as, some that are autobiographical. A lot of the stories are based on true events, not necessarily experienced by the author. About the Author Dr. Nicolaos S. Tzannes holds a Ph.D in Electrical Engineering Science, Mathematics and Statistics from The Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Maryland. He also holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the University of Minnesota and Syracuse University, respectively. He is presently a Professor Emeritus of Electrical Engineering at the University of Central Florida, Orlando, Florida, where he also chaired the Department from 1986-1994. He has taught at The Johns Hopkins University, Tufts University, the University of Oklahoma, the University of Virginia, Oregon State University and the University of Patras, in Greece. Besides the books listed on page 2, Dr. Tzannes has authored, co-authored or edited many other books and scientific papers in English and other languages. An account of his activities can be found at http://nick.tzannes.net/ Dr. Tzannes and his wife live part of the year in Orlando, Florida, and part of it in Kato Kastritsi, Patras, Greece. Yet another part of the year they spend visiting their three sons and their families, and enjoying their seven grandchildren. They devote the rest of the year to traveling around the globe.
