About the Author Don Wales, whose grandfather, as a young man, served in the Battle Between the States" and whose great-grandfather also served in the Civil War, "was invited" to serve in the US. Army in the 1950s's. He became intrigued by the idea of the life of a Roman warrior of the1st Century A.D. Don read, imagined and finally decided to write about what that reality might have been like. To be in some of those far off places was easy to envision as he and his family have lived and traveled in "far off lands." throughout his adult life. A graduate of UCLA, with a doctorate from Austin Theological Seminary, Don has worked with churches in the USA and oversees for 54 years. Now he lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with his wife, Hilda, and tries to "mooch as much as he can off of his three adult daughters and one son. Between visits to his grandchildren, Dr. Wales walks, reads philosophy, theology, Louis L'Amour westerns and enjoys life.
