This antiquarian volume contains a concise yet detailed introduction to antique household clocks, with information on the inner workings and machinations of clocks, their external and decorative characteristics, and more. Written in clear, plain language and profusely illustrated, this handy little guide is ideal for those with little previous knowledge of the subject, and would make for a great addition to collections of allied literature. The chapters of this book include: Various clock pendulums, Clock mechanism, Brass lantern clocks, Long-case grandfather, and Representative examples. Many antiquarian books such as this are increasingly hard-to-come-by and expensive, and it is with this in mind that we are republishing this work now in an affordable, modern edition complete with a specially commissioned new introduction on the history of clocks and watches.
