In this beautiful book, Mark and Sally Bailey uncover the potential of disregarded or abandoned household items, giving them a new lease on life. Advocating pared-down simplicity, they focus on the integrity of materials and their surface quality--chipped paint showing the layers beneath, rough unfinished textures-combined with clean lines, or old materials combined with modern ones. "Restoration Home" looks at the key components: Architectural Details, Flooring & Lighting, Furnishings, Storage, and Display. A section on Rooms shows how well the recycled look can work in the kitchen, living areas. bathrooms, bedrooms, and working rooms. The directory of resources will help you find the right pieces for your home. - "The Baileys' phenomenon has spawned a generation of chic salvage lovers" Livingetc. - Striking photography by Debi Treloar
