The Book of Revelation is probably the most puzzling book in the Bible. With its vivid images, its beautiful canticles, and its graphic depiction of the final judgment, it can daunt even the most determined reader. Is it a prophecy about how the world will end? Is it a coded message about bearing up under Roman persecution? Or, perhaps, it is something else altogether. This devotional commentary looks at Revelation in light of the hope and promise available to everyone--past, present, and future--whose hearts are fixed on Jesus. Short meditations based upon each passage help readers pray through the book, and introductory chapters help set Revelation in its broader context.
