Sole OwnershipWhales and dolphins (cetaceans) have almost always been peaceful and non-combative. But by the year 2015, their fishing grounds have been depleted to a critical level and both the cetaceans and their food are being exposed to mor pollution in both the water and air, further subjecting them to starvation and disease. The cetaceans have had enough. To preserve their place on this planet they have banded together in a worldwide community effort to fight back. Since cetaceans do not construct and use tools, they resort to the next best thing for weapons: they use human-built weapons lost or discarded at sea. Now it is up to man to decide whether to work with the cetaceans to preserve the worlds' oceans or to oppose them. Misjudgment could prove very costly. About the Author Douglas R. Miller was born and educated in Pennsylvania, obtaining his bachelor degree from Washington and Jefferson College with majors in biology and chemistry. He then migrated to New York State where he got his Ph.D. in medical physiology from Cornell University and where he als met and married his wife Jane. After doing his postdoc at Massachusetts General Hospital, he worked as a Research Scientist at several companies and universities. Dr. Miller wrote over 200 scientific papers, grants, patents and a lab manual. His research was mostly in the areas of arthritis, cancer, bone and soft tissue repair, several areas of electrochemistry and food safety. He is now retired in Texas where he and his wife plan to stay with their dog and two cats. This is his first attempt at writing science fiction (except for all those papers and grants), which was attempted because of his lifelong affection for the area.
