Ben Campbell Johnson bases his provocative paraphrase of the New Testament on his belief that truth lies in relationships. By "relational paraphrase," he says. "I am confessing that my approach to truth is relational..., the truth about God, for example, is discovered and e3xpressed through our relationship to him." This look at Paul's epistles (the first volume of the paraphrase) brings them forcefully into twentieth-century life and culture and opens up their relevance to our daily lives. Because every generation must reinterpret the gospel in terms that can be understood by the contemporary mind, Ben Johnson's paraphrase is an exciting discovery. It will not only provide rich insights for personal reading but will be a valuable resource for Bible study and discussion groups,
