His fable 'Le Petit Prince' (The Little Prince) has become a modern classic. It is a tender tale of friendship, love, and loss in which, a pilot strands in the desert and meets a young prince fallen to Earth from a tiny asteroid. The story is philosophical and includes social criticism, commenting on the strangeness of the adult world. While it looks like a children's book, it targets adult relationships with deep thoughts on how adults perceive life with each other. The book will take its readers on a trip to see the world differently and learn what is really substantial. It is one of the most-translated books in the world and was voted the best book of the 20th century in France. Translated into 300 languages and dialects, selling nearly two million copies annually, it has become one of the best-selling books ever published, universally cherished by children and adults alike.
