A collection of poems that experiments with style and sound. It almost feels like you can touch the landscapes and embrace the world of a traveler. "I travel, I travel so many places, yet I always feel at home." The poems in The Overture Bird have both depth of meaning and simplicity, as they guide us through with color and flight into unlikely places, at times we are left staring out into the sky or at a statue in awe. "Trespassing into the backyard of gods". McSherry carves words with a seasonal tension of fleetingness. A meditative echo unattached and refreshingly lacking any coterie and yet still the echo is mesmerizing, original and sharp. A gravitating, wind-influenced book that leaves words, images in the mind long after the pages are abandoned.
