Whether it's design, interiors or architecture, the client list for the Swedish firm Sandell Sandberg reads like a roster of the world's edgiest companies, including B&B Italia, Artimide, Ericsson, Electrolux and IKEA. This first-ever comprehensive book about the firm, established in 1995, shows off the powerful, idiosyncratic sense of form that has placed principal Thomas Sandell at the forefront of the international architecture and design scene. Sandell's playful approach characterizes projects ranging from IKEA lamps or vacation retreats that look like they were designed for trolls with a mid-century modern aesthetic, to housing for the underprivileged in suburban communities. A substantial book on a designer whose influence will only grow with the decades.
