In the land of Cambu, Elian lives a charmed, simple life with her mother and father, Job and Mama Shey. But the seventeen-year-old is unsettled. She senses that something bigger awaits her beyond the edges of the idyllic farm where she has grown up-and her instincts are right. When Elian expresses her restlessness, Job and Mama Shey are compelled to explain the truth about her heritage. Elian, it turns out, is the daughter of Augustus, the once-benevolent king of Wide River Province. Her father, a gentle and valiant king, was killed by his devil-worshiping wife, Queen Melda, after he denounced the throne because of her dark and evil ways. Suddenly, Elian's life is anything but ordinary. She embarks on a courageous journey to uncover the mysteries of her birth and search for the world her heart desires. Along the way, she saves an innocent man from the gallows and experiences firsthand the atrocities Queen Melda has imposed on the land and its people. Full of adventure, Wide River Princess is the exciting coming-of-age tale of a young woman's cunning will to live and passionate mission to serve her true purpose and fulfill her destiny.
