This book traces the United States history from Columbus to the onset of the Civil War. It is written in verse, in an entertaining, energetic, yet edifying form. If you do not know the difference between the Puritans and the Pilgim Fathers, cannot tell the scalawag apart from the carpetbagger, and wonder why in Mexico they celebrate Grito while in the United States Cinco de Mayo, the book is for you.It is the first part of Sarah Condor's collection multi-volume cycle entitled AMERICA. It is written in verse, with a few poems of personal introduction and explanation. All explanations and notes are in verse. It contains reproductions of important paintings, symbols and images, illustrating her poems. All ILLUSTRATIONS are IN COLOR with the best resolution available.
