This engaging story celebrates the joy of learning to read."Carlo reads to Crackers the cat.Carlo reads with his friend Nevil.Carlo reads to a baby."Carlo the giraffe likes reading-and wherever he goes, Carlo reads everything he sees: at his house, on the street, in the park, at the market, and, of course, in the library. Jessica Spanyol's simple story and cleverly labeled illustrations invite us to point, say, and read through the day with Carlo-and her bright, fun artwork will appeal to readers and nonreaders alike.
