    Author: Johnson, Dennis Milton

    Condition: New

Product Description A collection of poems that have no connective tissue except for their fall to Earth. That floating dust that sometimes settles on the table and offers my words a place in time when I have no pen and paper. About the Author Dennis Johnson was born in San Francisco, California in 1946, he grew up in the Central San Joaquin Valley with his family eventually settling in Fresno. He earned a degree in Art from Fresno State College before heading to the Navy in 1967 where his duties as a "SPOOK" placed him in Southeast Asia. Returning to school in 1969, he received a BA in English from Fresno State where he was nurtured in that acclaimed department which included Philip Levine, Peter Everwine, Gene Bluestein, Lillian Faderman, Charles Hanzlicek and others. He continued his studies at UC Berkeley in 1972 and later at the University of Alberta. His time working as a carpenter, machinist and electrician before venturing into commercial banking as a career has given him a wealth of life experiences. Throughout this time, he never stopped writing poetry, short stories, and music as well as dabbling at his interest in drawing and painting. He also is the author of the play, "What's That 'S' On Your Pajamas?", the novel, "Steel" (The Ring in the Water) written in 1972, and a cookbook based upon the fictional restaurant, Falloon's. He resides in Fresno California. After 35 years in banking, he has returned to his love of writing. He also enjoys sailing, playing music, painting, collecting classic sports cars, and has been an avid Porsche lover since high school.
