"At first, I couldn't figure out how to kill nearly four billion people." So begins The Happiness Equation, a fascinating, fast-paced and provocative book by David Burgett.Brilliant computer programmer Daniel has created Lazurus, an artificial intelligence the likes of which the world has never seen. It was built using digital neural networks and genetic programming, (both methods being used today by AI developers) and was given a simple mission: to increase human happiness. This riveting novel will have you following Lazurus and trying, with increasing horror, to find the fault in its logic as it systematically slaughters billions of people. The Happiness Equation will have you pondering, discussing and debating topics like human happiness, technology, ethics, religion and more long after you have finished the book.
