Before 1913, only three foreigners were invited to address the United States' Congress: Lafayette, Kossuth, and Hungarian statesman Apponyi, who was a member of Hungary's Parliament for over sixty years. In this 1935 book he describes his friendships with Liszt, Wagner and Theodore Roosevelt, his discussions with Mussolini, his work of the League of Nations, and his visits to America.
