This book details how reasonably to prepare to offset the consequences of any serious interruption of normal life support functions from any cause for a protracted time, such as the loss of electric power, water supply, natural gas, shelter, and transportation of food and heating oil. These also seriously impact health and safety services such as hospitals, fire and police. In effect, this is about survival preparedness. The potential occurrence of these problems has become essential to consider in light of the very real prospect of terrorist attacks on the infrastructure of the United States. The presentation is organized with an opening statement of THE PROBLEMS which may be encountered due to terrorist actions and/or possible geophysical earth changes or solar events, followed by the WHAT TO DO and RECOMMENDATIONS sections on how best to deal with the problems by the making of reasonable preparations to adequately manage the situation.
