Solomon is known as the wisest man who ever lived. His writings in the Old Testament range from practical, pithy proverbs to beautiful romantic poetry-and all are filled with his knowledge and insights. Yet behind those writings stood a flawed man who was conflicted between deep wisdom and tragic folly.Sadly, the king who warned against so many sins did not follow his own advice, and he wound up leading Israel into idolatry. Nevertheless, his life and writings provide valuable lessons for us today in the twenty-first century. In this study, pastor John MacArthur will guide you through an in-depth look at the historical period beginning with Solomon's ascent to the throne and continuing through his tragic end.
