Rowen met April after Lindsay's passing and April taught Rowen the difference between living and just being alive. Amy and April lived in Lakefield, Ontario in the summers. Geneva, Ohio, was their home the rest of the year on a farm Rowen shares with her brother and niece (and many pets).
