Around the Wicket Gate by Spurgeon to those with some knowledge of the Gospel but are outside of Christ. Spurgeon makes it clear that to be 'almost a Christian' is a most dangerous state. Here he presents in his own compelling manner the full and free salvation of God through trust in Jesus Christ alone. Written in a clear and straightforward manner Around the Wicket Gate will help answer the lingering questions many have that are keeping them from walking through. It is truly a book for those who want to believe but do not know how. Charles Haddon Spurgeon was a British Baptist preacher known as the "Prince of Preachers". He was a strong figure in the Reformed Baptist tradition, defending the Church in agreement with the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith understanding, and opposing the liberal and pragmatic theological tendencies in the Church of his day. In his lifetime, Spurgeon preached to approximatelly 10,000,000 people. He was a prolific author of many types of works including sermons, an autobiography, commentaries, books on prayer, devotionals, magazines, poetry, hymns and more. This version of Around the Wicket Gate includes original illustrations. While it reflects the language appropriate for its time it was edited by a human and contains few if any misspellings or unusual characters.
