"This must be the most lavish book on Art Deco ever published. It may even be the last word on the movement."-Artforum "Victor Arwas's Art Deco is the most serious and comprehensive book on the subject. . . . The book itself is an object of striking elegance."-Newsweek Victor Arwas's magnificent book offers a broad insight into the elements of this distinctive decorative style. Arwas discusses the work of Art Deco's leading French exponents-Ruhlmann, Puiforcat, Ert, Dunand, Fouquet, Cassandre, Boucheron, and Icart, to name but a few-as he traces the evolution of the style from its first appearance at the famed 1925 Exposition des Arts Dcoratifs et Industriels Modernes in Paris, from which it took its name. 437 illustrations, 340 in full color, 10 x 12"
