In June 2004, Colin Angus began his quest to circumnavigate the planet under his own power. Nearly two years later, after a grueling journey that took him through Alaska, across the Bering Sea, from Moscow to Portugal, and across the Atlantic to Costa Rica, he was back home. In Siberia, Angus battled not only deadly cold but also the deepening rift between himself and Tim, his expedition partner. Ending the pairing in the middle of Russia, Angus plowed forward, now competing with his friend-turned-foe, to be the first to complete a human-powered trip around the globe. His fortunes brightened when fiance Julie Wafaei agreed to join him. After narrowly escaping death while rowing through the fiercest hurricane season of modern history, the pair finally began the long push toward home. Beyond the Horizon weaves a thrilling modern adventure story with a powerful message of energy conservation.
