The Biblical commentaries represent the teaching of two gifted Greek scholars who came to England from the Byzantine East: Theodore, Archbishop of Canterbury and his colleague Hadrian. They taught the Bible to a group of Anglo-Saxon scholars, who recorded their teaching.
