Author: Vaeth, J. Gordon
Condition: New
Vaeth, an airship officer, historian, and a much-published airship author, details the construction, operations, and war time action of the blimps (named, by one story, for the sound made when one strikes an inflated envelope with a finger). While no submarine kills were confirmed, the blimps were an exceedingly effective deterrent, keeping U-boats submerged and inactive by their presence. An appendix covers the quieter US west coast. Annotation copyright Book News, Inc. Portland, Or.
