"My God, I'm going to die. Nothing is left. No one will survive," Princeton crewman statement following the Japanese attack on the ship. The USS Princeton was the pride of the U.S. Navy carrier fleet with an impressive war record, participating in five major Pacific campaigns. Then, on October 24, 1944, disaster struck in the form of a devastating Japanese aerial attack. A bomb ripped through the flight deck, causing a tremendous explosion that rocked the Princeton and ripped off her stern. This the incredible story of the heroic efforts to try and save the doomed ship as told by the men who lived through a nightmare that ultimately claimed the lives of more than three hundred men-more than had died in the Battle of Midway.
