Keat Wade completed a Bachelor of Arts in Speech and English and a Master of Science in Education at Fort Hays State University, Hays, Kansas. His teaching career, concluded with 22 years at a Christian college, Oklahoma Wesleyan University. During college, Keat married Rita Seaman who completed a B.S. degree in elementary education. They had two children, Brad and Lora, who also followed teaching careers. His life was interrupted by the death from cancer of his wife of nearly 35 years. He later married Judy Garlow Everett who is a writer in her own right authoring Take the Name of Jesus With You, (The Wesleyan Press, Indianapolis, Indiana).
