Crafting the Considerate House chronicles the design and construction of a home that is remarkably energy efficient, affordable, and a pleasure to live in. The narrative, as Fine Homebuilding author and blogger Fernando Pages Ruiz has written, puts you "on the front lines of building your dream green home, providing an in-the-flesh tour from foundation to finish with a kind guide at your side." You learn of the house's successes such as its $80 a year heating bills, sunlit interior, and lovely yet economical interior finishes. You share the author's reflections about how he might do better the next time out. Even as you are drawn in by the lively narrative, you find out just what it takes to build an appealing house that meets the financial and environmental challenges of the 21st century.
