Foreword by Johnny Depp.Long acclaimed as one of the best rock books ever written, Diary of a Rock 'n' Roll Star is Ian Hunter's candid account of Mott the Hoople's five week American tour in November and December 1972.First published in 1974, it has received a litany of plaudits and been described as what "may well be the best rock book ever" and "an enduring crystallization of the rock musician's lot, and a quietly glorious period piece" from Q and The Guardian.A brutally honest chronicle of touring life in the Seventies, and a classic of the rock writing genre, Diary of a Rock 'n' Roll Star remains the gold standard for rock writing.Newly published to include behind-the-scenes photos, a foreword by actor Johnny Depp, a context-setting introduction from Campbell Devine, an epilogue from Ian Hunter and his 2015 Japanese tour diary for the first time.
