Many hands make light work . . . or do they? In Doing the Washing, Mum decides to enlist the familys help as laundry day rolls around once again. Her little daughter is eager to pitch in what fun to sort the clothes, load the washing machine, measure the soap, and hang up the wet things. She's a big help, but what of the family dog, who has an unerring nose for all things wet and is just as eager to get in on the action? This simple yet delightful story is a lovely reminder that fun can be found in the most commonplace activities.
