Since the beginning of civilization, people have used plants as medicine. Ethnobotany is the study of how people of a particular culture and region make of use of indigenous plants. The use of traditional medicine was observed to be widespread and prevalent in most on a studied over orthodox medicines. This book refers that the enumeration of plants with potential value, which are used by the tribal groups, (Konda reddis, Konda kapu, Koyas, Konda dora and valmiki) residing in and around Sudikonda Forest of East Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh. Sudikonda forest range is located under latitude 17o15 - 18o02 N longitude 81o30-82 o36E. The area spreads around in 10 mandals namely, Jaggampeta, Gokavaram, Addateegala, Eleswaram, Rampachodavaram, Gangavaram, Rajavommangi, Y.Ramavaram, Maredumalli and Yellavaram. The purpose of this study was to collection, identification and inventorization of plant species by the tribal groups as a part of their culture and way of life and to evolve the protection and conservation strategies of natural resources. An inventory of 144 plant species from 64 families.
