Whether we realize it or not, many of us who attempt to follow Jesus perceive him as distant and uninterested. We tune out the Gospel stories we've heard so many times because we think we know them already and understand the message they teach: God is friendly, and he likes us okay. We may confess our belief in God the Son, but we've taken our eyes off Jesus.Meg Hunter-Kilmer helps you see Jesus anew by taking you through his life as told in the gospels, breaking open the familiar and shedding light on the foreign so that you can see the face of Jesus in the pages of Scripture and learn to love him more in his word. Eyes Fixed on Jesus provides biblical context that makes sense of Jesus' actions, cultural tidbits that shed new light on old stories, and connections between the New Testament's miracles and parables and the centuries of revelation found in the Old Testament. This first volume in a three-part series begins with the Incarnation and runs through Jesus sending out his disciples on mission. This book also includes a study guide to be used for individual or group Bible study.
