Life in biblical times was difficult for a woman alone. Kinsman Redeemer tells the story of an Israeli woman named Rachel, who lived during the time of the three kings. When Rachel's husband dies and leaves her without a child, she not only has to deal with the hardship of losing a husband, but without a male heir, she will lose her land and house. If one of her dead husband's brothers will give her a male child, she will be redeemed. Her deceased husband's older brother refuses to help her, but the younger brother steps up and proves to be a passionate husband and the true Kinsman Redeemer. This stunning novel is an ancient tale filled with love, disappointment, tears, hardship and victory. About the Author: Marty Jerling is a theologian in Port Elizabeth, South Africa.
