The Lake District is one of Britain's most beautiful national parks, a rich blend of fell, dale, and fresh water, attracting millions of visitors every year. Colin Baxter has been photographing this dramatic and compelling landscape for many years, portraying the real atmosphere of the Lake District in a way that conveys a feeling of actually being there. Bow Fell looming above mist-clad Little Langdale; winter pinks and blues on a perfectly still Windermere at dusk; the mirror reflection of Langdale Pikes on Blea Tarn; a symphony of mountains in rich browns across Wast Water. "The Lake District" captures these very special places and moments, creating a collection of Colin Baxter's best photographs.Colin Baxter is widely acclaimed for his distinctive landscape photography. In the early 1980s his work revolutionized the postcard industry in Scotland and he started photographing the Lake District around that time. He has produced a wide range of publications, including calendars and more than twenty books. His work is broadening to encompass the landscapes of other countries including France and Iceland. He lives in the highlands of Scotland.
