He became a firearms instructor, SWAT sniper instructor, tactical and defensive tactics instructor, and began to teach his colleagues about what he had learned. John taught street survival internationally for two years and finished the last six years of his career teaching at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia.Upon his retirement he began to write about his experience and expertise, publishing articles in various police and law enforcement magazines.
