The question is does formal contribute to moral upbringing? The study investigated three major aspects of formal education: school administration, curriculum and instruction practices, and hidden-curriculum. The study used a cross sectional descriptive survey design with both quantitative and qualitative approaches. The targeted population included head teachers, teachers, students and stakeholders in Wakiso, Uganda. Data collection instruments were questionnaires and interview guides, and analyzed using Chi-square test, frequency counts, percentages, and content analysis for data obtained from unstructured interviews. The results are discussed in the text. The findings of the study will be helpful to curriculum designers, school administrators, teachers, school counselors, parents and community promoting the moral upbringing of students, as they will utilize the information generated and gathered.
