In 1999, Jocelyn, age 26, meets the love of her life. Ten years later, he is found dead in their home. Now, in the year 2057, at the age of 84, Jocelyn sits in her old-fashioned living room, surrounded by outdated relics from the 1990s, and recounts that turbulent decade in her life to her earnest and modern young granddaughter. Jocelyns memoirs are humorous, heartwarming and horrifying, ranging from personal tragedies to national catastrophes. She is as candid in sharing the pain of her private agonies as she is in relating her gruesome memories of the explosive and violent race riots that nearly destroyed the country. A modern day epic, PAPAYA MYTHS glows with life and emotion. An unforgettable read.
