Lawrence, and Bataille. Included in this collection are the essays: Anton Tchehov, The Gift of Prophecy, Penultimate Words, and The Theory of Knowledge. Written aphoristically, the works contained herein are interesting and insightful, and constitute a must-read for all students of philosophy unfamiliar with the fascinating ideas of Shestov. Lev Isaakovich Shestov was a Russian existentialist philosopher. This rare book was originally published in 1916 and is proudly republished here with a new introductory biography of the author.
