About the Author Henry Gleitman is Professor of Psychology and the former chair of the department at the University of Pennsylvania. He is the recipient of the American Psychological Foundations Distinguished Teaching in Psychology Award (1982) and, from the University of Pennsylvania, the Abrams Award (1988) and the Lindback Award (1977). He has served as president of the APAs Division 1: General Psychology and Division 10: Psychology and the Arts.
