Pilot Light provides a creative departure from Tina Lustig's debut collection, Ancient Dance, delving into the lyric sonnet form. Inspired by Edna St. Vincent Millay, John Keats, and William Shakespeare, Lustig brings a contemporary voice to the English sonnet. Her intimate sequence of twenty-five sonnets weaves an idyllic journey that portrays the unique possibilities of life.Continually influenced by the music that permeates her poetry, Lustig explores the power of everlasting love, the magnitude of nature, and the struggle for a life of meaning free from material yearnings. She delves into childhood dreams, the importance of family, and becoming the person in your mind's eye. Her words communicate in a way that is both intensely personal and highly accessible.
