The effect of laser irradiation on human and animal organisms have been intensively studied, but the mechanism of this effect is not well understood and discussed on the level of hypothesis. In order to have light energy absorbed, it is necessary to have some absorbing molecules such as enzymes, pigments, and other biochemical structures containing in most cases chromophores. The aim of the present work is to study the effects induced by laser irradiation, on the RBCs membrane, the role of N-acetylcysteine and that of the mixed disulfide of L-cysteine and 2-mercaptoethanol as radioprotectors or repairing agents. The study was divided into two parts: 1) in vitro, and 2) in vivo.
