During World War II, Bundles for America branches across the country worked and raised money to provide knitted garments for Army, Navy, Coast Guard, and Merchant Marine personnel and their families. SELECTED RECIPES was a fund raising project intended for the "relief of the dependent families of men in service and to buy comforts for our armed forces."
