Substitute Teaching and Loving It, is a "must have" for every substitute teacher or new teacher. Not only does it include quality information for a successful substitute day, but also provides reproducible lessons that meet STATE AND NATIONAL STANDARDS.In the past, substitute teachers have often been regarded as babysitters; to fill an absent teacher's position for a day, week, or even longer.Today, there is an increasing demand for teachers to attend staff development and unit planning workshops. However, it is still critical that students are actively engaged in learning, when a substitute is in the classroom.Books, such as this, in addition to educational workshops and classes, will help substitutes understand classroom practices, school routines, behavior management strategies, curriculum expectations, plus much more. This book will give substitutes an objective look at education in today's schools and what is expected to happen in the classroom. With increased accountability, substitutes become increasingly important in our efforts to ensure students meet high standards. We appreciate and value their efforts in contributing to our student's success. This resource manual is a valuable resource in achieving that aim.
