He is the author of The Renewal of Islamic Law (Cambridge University Press, 1993), which received the Albert Hourani award in 1994, and of The Middle East into the 21st Century (in press, at Garnet). Product Description Twelve contributions from Palestinian and Israeli lawyers and scholars identify and assess areas of common interest. The range of strategic issues covered includes history and law, key international treaties, the domestic dimensions of the peace process, water arrangements, economic issues, and the legal institutions which are being created. The authors show how the traditional opposition of Israeli and Arab views may be giving way to a common, informed reflection of modes of coexistence primarily determined by law.
